From 10th to 15th May, on the occasion of ART CITY Bologna 2022, the new edition of the Bologna art week par excellence, the historic bottles of the main Gruppo Montenegro brands will be the protagonists of a special installation project – “Nuova Mixage” by the artist Flavio Favelli – inside Bar Vittorio Emanuele, a historic café in the centre of Bologna.
The two topics which serve as a guiding thread for this art project are tradition and innovation, elements that have always underpinned the growth path of Gruppo Montenegro and all its brands.
The forty-five bottles in this art project track the progress of iconic brands in the Italian liqueur tradition – Amaro Montenegro, Vecchia Romagna, Select, Rosso Antico, Coca Buton, Grappa Libarna and Oro Pilla – which have been restyled over time, though always true to their origins and tradition: a journey of discovery across the history of design applied to quality drinking culture.
Through this work, the artist Flavio Favelli specifically explores the pure form of the bottle, which is generally hidden by the label, a fundamental shape-figure-model within the history of the Western world and of art.
To mark the occasion, on Friday 13th May, a vernissage event will be held at Bar Vittorio Emanuele.
