Cà Select Arte: first edition!

Select has always believed in the power of art as a vehicle to disseminate the values our brand most firmly believes in, namely excellence and authenticity.

This is why, in 2022, the open call Ca’ Select Arte was inaugurated to strengthen the bond between Select and the art world through support given to up-and-coming young artists.

Ca’ Select Arte asked candidates to tell about their connection with the city of Venice, freely expressing aspects related to Venice imagery and tradition, using various techniques and media. The artworks we received have been assessed by a panel consisting of Aurora Fonda, director of the A plus A art gallery, Federica Sala, independent curator and design advisor and by the journalist and art critic Matteo Bergamini.

The winner of the 2022 edition, the artist Koshevoy Bogdan, has lived in Venice for many years now.

His large-scale work, entitled “La Voga”, is painted on fabric like a tapestry item, inspired by Oriental carpets, thus bringing to mind the connection between Venice and the East, which made it one of the most important and exotic centres in Europe, deeply affecting its art production. It will be on display in Ca’ Select from May 2023 for one year.

On Saturday 17th June we celebrated the project and its winner during Art Night, an event designed and organised by Ca’ Foscari University, in partnership with the Municipality of Venice, established in 2011 and now part of the official schedule of European Art Nights.
